Osman Karaca – SP Joint Comm AL KHM 7:2020 (December 11, 2020)
This joint UN Special Procedures allegation letter raises concerns about the enforced disappearance of Thai political activist Wanchalearm Satsaksit in Cambodia and the arrest, short-term enforced disappearance, and deportation of Osman Karaca, a dual Mexican-Turkish national, to Turkey. It alleges serious violations of international human rights law, including arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, and breaches of non-refoulement obligations, and requests detailed explanations and remedial measures from the Cambodian authorities.
