Advocates of Silenced Turkey proudly present the International Short Film Contest, a platform to raise awareness about unjust practices, nurture talent in short filmmaking, and highlight the power of cinema as a tool for justice.
The International Short Film Contest is held every two years, bringing together filmmakers from across the globe to shine a light on human rights violations and the stories of the silenced.
This contest aims to:
Develop awareness of human rights violations.
Encourage creativity and skill in short filmmaking.
Inspire clear and powerful storytelling.
Contribute to building a culture of artistic engagement.
Theme: The central theme chance every year
Participants are invited to reflect on experiences of injustice and victimization in Turkey and around the world. Sub-topics may include:
Political prisoners
Torture and ill-treatment
Deprivation of basic human rights
The suffering of innocent women, infants, and seniors in prisons
Awards
1st Prize: $2,000
2nd Prize: $1,000
3rd Prize: $500
Additionally, the Top 10 films will be broadcasted on AST’s website and social media platforms, reaching a global audience.
