At Advocates of Silenced Turkey, our mission is to make human rights violations in Turkey visible and to share them with the world. We do this not only through conferences, reports, documentaries, and books that tell the real-life stories of victims, but also by using the universal language of art.
Every brushstroke, every note, every photograph, and every word of the works submitted to our poetry, music, painting, short film, and photography contests becomes a testimony, a form of resistance, a call to remember—and not to let others forget.
These works have sometimes carried the silent lament of a baby separated from their father, and at other times brought to life the sorrowful lines of a child who could not see their parents for years. In a single photograph taken along the migration routes, we witnessed how hope and loss can coexist. In a poem, we saw inner pain transformed into words.
Art for Human Rights has become more than an aesthetic space; it has turned into a global call for justice, conscience, and human dignity. We continue walking this path with your contributions and support. Because we know that art does not only tell a story—it also changes, heals, and carries hope into the future.
We invite you to support our efforts by following us on social media and joining our events.
From brush to note, from word to frame: Art is the aesthetic expression of human feelings and thoughts.
Art, beyond expressing emotions and ideas, is also a form of resistance, a reminder, and a call for justice.
Art For Human Rights: it is the expression of suffering, rights violations, and silent screams through the language of art.
